WOW
OOF...out of focus.
There are numerous books and web sites that go into coin grading, look them up. I think I am correct in saying that an uncirculated coin is one...
The "3" on the 1943 isn't high up either.
Just toning.
What did you purchase? Was it this cent? You must have had a reason to purchase it, what did you think it is? How much did you pay?
Not great, but check this out... [ATTACH]
The steel were plated with zinc to keep them from rusting.
Take it to a dealer somewhere first, "grading" isn't cheap.
From the pictures, it looked like zinc to me...sorry.
Nah, I just made a couple of posts I would like to retract or pretend I never made, but people on here are really forgiving as long as you're not...
1943 cents were zinc coated iron (or steel). The bronze are very rare.
Your coin isn't worth much, wait and see what people here have to say.
This is a steel one, anything else (copper) is an exceedingly rare coin. I always enjoy finding these, although they are always in lousy shape.
I stand corrected...
It's a 1943 D cent.
Hard to tell from the photo...besides having a "mirror" finish, it should also have "outstanding" details... [ATTACH]
And, don't tell anyone, but I like the smell...
Should give further clarification...it looks like two cents were glued together and one was separated, leaving the glue layer on the other one....
Honestly looks like glue to me.
Separate names with a comma.
