A rusted steel cent from 1943. Not worth more than face value. Welcome to CT.
Happy Birthday to everyone!!!
Happy Birthday to all of you!!
The mint mark is probably an RPM and all other doubling is MD. I can’t tell for sure as the pictures get in the way.
I can see the crack and I have no doubts that’s it’s from a lamination issue. However I also see a gouge in the field just above the lower portion...
The supply is low and demand is high. That’s what’s driving the market.
Looks like damage from an electric engraving tool.
Damage is all I see
That’s the best error that I’ve seen in the last 30 seconds.
It’s the D over an S mint mark. Not an error, just a variety. Shame about those carbon spots. Despite the over mint mark it’s not worth the price...
I think it’s wonderful!
Looks flat and shelf like to me.
If I only had a crystal ball.
I’d keep it. Small date or not, it’s 61 years old and it’s decent looking.
The only D to be repunched would be the mint mark. I’m not seeing that. The rest of what you see was caused by a worn die and circulation. Nice...
Yes they are but there’s lots more. First I’d like to see if @scottishmoney can answer me about the registers signature.
I’m not an expert by any means but that’s what it looks like to me. It looks more like a lamination crack that opened up on the wheat stalk more...
That I can relate too! Lol
I’m thinking it was a planchet defect before it was minted.
Very nice. I need one in that condition. I’m thinking a MS-63 but I know very little about this series.
