There is a big difference between a mint error and a variety. Doubled Dies are varieties.
Those might look like D’s but they are just the zinc core rotting under the thin copper coating. They can appear anywhere on the coin, at anytime...
Looks like it had a large crease that will lower the value but the number is low enough to draw interest.
