How are you doing the specific gravity test?
@Mattellis what people are trying to say is that it takes time to play guessing games, "What's wrong with my coin", but much easier to respond to...
What happened with them?
I would think acetone would be fine on tin coins, xylene is another possibility. https://www.ebay.com/b/Tin-World-Coins/256/bn_26720663
If that's true, what makes it a "mule"? I thought a mule had to be a different design.
Even tap water is not harmful to coins as long as it is not allowed to dry on the coin. Blot them dry.
Look at the bottom of the 6 or the top loop of the 9.
Not even close
Also, IHC's in Unc and near-Unc are quite expensive, but I got this one (slabbed) for $10 or so because it is "smoothed" (it also has a clash!)....
How about a clip on an IHC...cost me $0.25 and the guy at the flea market said it was a shame someone cut it with shears... [ATTACH]
...for more than face value.
Did anyone ever find out what it was a mule with?
Still working on mine, P mint coins are scarce in CA
So, at 1.32 g mine are closer to diobols rather than drachms?
Thanks @Ed Snible I'll check out the link.
Sit the phone (pointed down) on a glass turned upside down, place the coin on a piece of paper so it is visible from the coin, take the pic...
Not to hijack a thread, but I got these and am not sure of their authenticity [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
