Never seen a Quarter Dinara from Kushano-Sassanian Empire. I have three AV Dinara from Vahram/ Ormizd/ Peroz. I would get it/ probably unique:)
The "Tyrant" would be a good guess!
I would wait for a better quality one/ struck from fresh dies.
No/ not yet/ but have many from post gupta dynasties/ Huna Empire.
I have this one.... [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
I think Friedberg should look into adding these. I do not think they have good sources for coinage from visigoths/ merovingians/ sasanians.
The ones from Abkar and Jahangir are awesome. My fav. the zodiac series/ 500K+ @ Be nice if they found a large hoard![ATTACH]
I will let you know when I see either one. Aurangzeb AV Mohurs MS-66 are not $$$ and many in auctions. Shah Jahan I AV M not rare/ many MS-65/66...
Gee! I wonder why? Any Merovingian coins?
Question does the Friedberg 10th ed. book have listing of Sasanian gold coins?
I have most of them, I like the reverses.
I find it so crazy that these guys are so bad at their job. At least try to get obverse/ reverse right/ and weight/ diameter:shame:
Here are fotos from my book[ATTACH] [ATTACH]
This is real one...[ATTACH]
I bid on a FDC ex. Artemide auction, it sold for 10K Euros.
FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!! number 1 dealer is from Kazacshstan! 1/ size is 20mm. not 28mm, wrong legend! I have this coin already from CNG
Its amazing how photos are taken. Heritage are experts/ their auction photos make coin look better then in hand. However some auctions/ dealers do...
Here is another cheap one from 88BC[ATTACH] [ATTACH]
There is one coin/ very affordable from 42BC. Struck by Scythian King for Brutus[ATTACH] [ATTACH] I got this one FDC for 1600e.
It would cost 1.6M euros/ or more. I know that if I owned it/ I would look at it, every nite before bedtime/ and sleep well:)
