It appears that Intercept Shield has a type set album. Look it up and see if it fits your needs.
Mintage is a very poor indicator of key or semi-key status. If you go by mintage then a 1933 Double Eagle is neither. Check the catalog value.
I think you are over-rating those two coins. I don't see them as being even semi-keys.
At a minimum it's guaranteed to go into a detail or genuine slab. And a reasonably possibility exists it would get body bagged (no slab).
The toning is ugly but if it's not AU it didn't miss by much.
Things have been VERY slow for me getting new coins. My wantlist was too narrow and I wasn't finding much. And to top it off I whiffed at the...
I avoid the -69 vs. -70 controversy. Most of my collecting is for 19th century coins. Even if there were -69 and -70 coins I couldn't afford them....
I treat pedigrees the same way I treat rainbow toning ... I won't pay extra for either. Neither attribute interests me. I was at the ANA Summer...
Actually not all that long, 48 coins in about 4 years, but most of them I got in the first 2 years.
I found a few MS-65 FT's Even found an MS-67 FT but it was VERY expensive ($1000+). Mine is a matched set; all MS-66 FT or FB
I've got a type set (based on the NGC Registry) that there's only about 10 coins to go. I figure I might be able to afford 4 of them ... about 1 a...

I searched all reasonably available pricing information. Turns out the online pricing guide on PCGS quoted the highest figure. That's what I bid...
The 1961 is a semi-key to the set. Based on catalog value it the 5th most difficult to get. Based on my experience it's tougher than that.
I received a 1961 Roosevelt Dime in PCGS MS-66 FB. That completes the matched set of business strike silver Roosies, all MS-66 FB or FT. Took...
I avoid coins like yours ... dull and lifeless. I immediately think "dipped".
As I said elsewhere I came home from the Whitman show with a full wallet and empty handed. But that's not the only game in town. Here's an item...
Bummer about the scratch on the slab. From my experiences polishing scratches off slabs that one looks deep enough that you won't be able to get...
As I understand it the graders spend VERY little time examining each coin. Well under a minute although more expensive/rarer coins probably get a...
I have 11 or 12 NGC Registry Sets. I don't do PCGS sets because of their restriction to PGCS graded coins only. As to the "why", much of my...
