It's not a doubled die.
Looks like light mechanical doubling IMO...
.
Also just as a note, you shouldn't have to invert the colors on your coins to show a certain aspect. If it really is a variety or error, it should...
Dropped letters are errors, not varieties. The difference is varieties are consistent. You can find the same exact variety on multiple coins....

Looks like a die crack. :thumb:
Looks like a very worn coin from what I can see. No sign of clashing...
Any way you look at it, it is PMD. Sorry, your coin is damaged.
I see no doubling. You may be seeing master die doubling, which was present on 60% of all 1972 minted cents, and isn't considered collectable.
Very nice. I'll say 67. :smile
I'll say 66.
And just a buck over $55! Even if I bid I would have lost it! :(
I would say yes to PMD on 3rd as well.
1 looks like a nice struck through grease on the obverse. The second coin looks like PMD IMO. Keep up the hunt!
Great to always have an educational example of mechanical doubling to compare when searching for a real doubled die. Keep up the hunt!
I would say that what you have is an acid-dipped cent. It has been damaged outside the mint and is not an error. Keep up the hunt!
My top bid would be $55 if all the info I have read is correct.
Beautiful, Paul!!
Definitely a DDO. I'm thinking die 8. Not the big one but still nice. Keep up the hunt!
