I've got an 1816 Large Cent...if no one posts anything in the next hour or two I will post it.
The coin looks plated post-mint, so I would think that is the cause of the anomalies apparent on your coin.
I think the redbook is incorrect with the compositions...post-1982 cents are composed of a 97.5% zinc core with a 2.5% copper plating....
