It's not a doubled die. It does not appear to be ANY error of any sort. It looks like it was plated after it left the mint, meaning it suffers...
Looks more like a misaligned die error to me, which is fairly common...can we see a shot of the whole coin?

Nope, the coin just looks like it has been plated or otherwise damaged post-mint.
That coin is a nice triple repunched mintmark, a D/D/D. It listed as coppercoins.com 1957D-1MM-002. Here is the reference page....
