GD, Thanks for the highly informative post. I love this forum, as I learn something new every single day. Thanks!
I can see what looks like corrosion in the pictures, but thankfully in hand it doesn't look that way to me. Even if it was corrosion, I managed to...
That's a shame : (, what year is it if you don't mind me asking?
I don't encourage dipping, but if a coin has ugly toning, I say go for it, and I know many people would do the same thing. I think you would be...
Thanks superdave, this is a coin for my collection, that I have no intent to sell. I also know that most coins have been dipped if they have...
Also, I'm pretty sure a concentration of 40M nitric acid is impossible? If not, I would genuinely like to know.
You might dip them in acetone if they are corroding from PVC residue, but if you dip them in a dilute cleaning solution, it will not leave...
Dipping, in fact when done properly does not ruin the value of the coin at all. It will not leave hair lines either, unless your rub it. Some of...

Thanks for the tip, I purchased 6 sets for an average of 15 after shipping costs.
I know people are going to advise me against it, but I have a morgan with some of the ugliest toning you will ever see, but it has some great...
I've had morgans on the brain, so I just put morgan. I'm also exhausted, and am going to bed now, at 8:18 PM. Reuben, those are some nice coins...
Lol, I just noticed that. I guess it's too late to change the title.
Eh, I don't think it's going to go a 66 after looking at the details a little more. Maybe a 65, definitely a 64 I believe.
This walker has some super nice details, with very minimal contact. The luster is blazing, and toned, but the scanner washed out the luster.
