Entry post. I would like coin C the Morgan! Just started putting together a Morgan set.
It's an S, but I wouldn't call it an error.
Appears to be a lamination.
Yeah, you have to wait about 30 seconds.
They wouldn't need to press it, the glue just fills in around the letters. They didn't necessarily do it intentionally.
Exactly! Don't know why people want to throw away money.
Ring of death!
That's not doubling. That's die deterioration doubling.
Where do you see doubling on the coin.
I see absolutely no doubling on this coin.
It appears to either be a stain or zinc rot.
Only one side is down at a time so certainly possible. Also, you can tell it's pmd by the way it cuts through the rim. Anyway, there's nothing in...
Feeder finger damage is done to the face of the die, not the coin. It will show as raised areas on the coin.
Of course cement can do that! Copper is a very soft metal.
Bisecting die cracks can have some nice added value.
If you had read the posts by the original poster you would have seen that it's not possible for an RPM on a1993 cent.
Roller lines.
LM, I received the smashed coin yesterday. Thanks again!
Probably a die chip.
