It looks like a repunched mint mark to me. It's not listed in the cherrypicker's guide.
I'm going to go au-58, maybe even a 60, since it is an O mint mark, and probably weakly struck. Too many scratches to go higher than that IMO.

Au-53. I'd give it a 55 or 58, but there is a nice sized rim ding.
