It was minted in phildelphia, those coins have no mint mark, how rare? there were 6,851,765,000 minted.
Looking at completed listings for 1999 pf 70s they're only going for about 60-70 far off from the 112 that numismedia is saying, i didn't check...
I personally haven't heard anything (good or bad) about them, I've read lots of good reviews on apmex though www.apmex.com

They could start at the smallest coin as shaved, and as the coins get bigger he gets a 5oclock shadow, and then a little more hair, then the last...
It doesn't appear to be an error, its post mint damage (PMD) it looks like someone or something just smacked the date and smooshed the numbers....

I believe you're referring to the "Woody" or wood grain effect, its an improper mix of alloys, that gives the coin a streaking effect.
It's not too difficult to distinguish, the fg next to the memorial helps a lot too I'm on my phone so I can't, post links but just google cams and...
You can't post that you have that many and not show pics ;)
Why not, much easier to display, takes up less space, I do the same thing, coins were meant to be free
