There's a pretty strong market out there for slabs with no grade. It's just that, as somewhat knowledgeable collectors, we don't patronize the...
NGC pretty much prostrated itself before the 57th Street Collection. That's as firmly as I can put it without being (deservedly) edited. :)
No. There are no marks on the obverse of a Dime which look like that. Those lines have to come from somewhere, and if you don't see them on a die,...
If that is not the clearest-possible proof that modern slabs are not air tight, I don't know what is.
Yeah, this is a poor time to submit. :)
22A, as I mentioned earlier. I want to see that crack by the second left star and the ones at D->wing fully developed into breaks for 22B, but...
Dibs. I'm closer. :P
I'd consider it unlikely to be deliberate fakery, if only because just a small subset of collectors like this "circulation cameo" look. If there's...
This. These days, according to VAMworld, they're all either 22A or 22B, dependent upon the state of the cracks/breaks. The site further states...
PCGS will not allow 70 as a "minimum grade." Probably why there are so many 69's out there.
My money's on 22A, late die state. The cracks and breaks aren't quite well-enough developed for 22B.
Killer coin. :)
They're doing "fluorescent tube substitutes" these days out of inline LED arrangements. I wonder what one straight across a curved coin, maybe...
That'll mean more Jansjos because I still want the direct light for luster on lesser coins. Good thing there's an Ikea in town. :)
It ain't even the first one this week.
All 1921's are High Relief. The experience was so traumatic that they lowered the relief from then onward except for a few 1922 Proofs. :) Lovely...
Frankly, I'm about to ditch the Jansjo's in favor of R20 full-spectrum plant lights in all but the closest light placements. The chroma noise on...
I don't mind disagreeing with you on this issue. Heck, Cascade and I are on opposite ends of the political spectrum, and we manage to get along...
I dunno; all I'm seeing is an AU Morgan (the "good" one is plainly circulated under additional magnification) compared to a barely-Fine Morgan,...
It is gonna tick me off if I have to put someone I admire as much as you on Ignore simply because you won't let go of this.
