    Your coin is not an S mint marked coin. What seems to be an S on your coin is in the wrong place comparatively, and it is the wrong size.

    1803 1$ NGC45 Does dark tone add originality, subtract value, or both?

    My point is that circulated silver this old, even if properly stored, should look similar to this one, be it slightly lighter or darker....

    Go to maddieclash.com and you'll see clear pictures of one I discovered a couple years ago in BU... cleaned and artificially toned.
