I’m with Mountain Man, another coin was laid on top of this quarter and a stain was created. Judging from the line I’d say it was another quarter.
I’m at a MS-62 on her. I’m seeing a few small bag marks and it seems to lack luster. Otherwise it’s very nice.

Simply put, they are both damaged. The 1937 has something put on it, like solder as mentioned by Mountain Man. The 1984 is showing signs of zinc...
The rim is still intact so I don’t see it flat around the edges, hence, not a dryer coin. The entire coin does have the look of being dissolved,...
Being as the image of Lincoln and the letters are backwards it’s just a cent that was squeezed in a vise and now it’s damaged.
