    Turns out I was grading VF based on wear of a draped bust quarter, not half. The two wear differently. So this one is a VG details. Still think...

    half dollar 1796 grade???

    Mintage is 569. Retails for $19k in Poor1 condition. Realistically, this coin if in a VF details holder would probably fall in the $5000-$10000 range.
