Yep - that is the correct ovberse for an 1838 cent. The started changing them in 1835. I did not try to attibute the coin but it looks real to me.
So you did not see anything wrong with the shadowing or coloring of the coins? It just look weird to see five coins with same type toning.

LOL - so would I. I think it is definetly nicer than F, but I think XF40 is pushing it. It is a nice coin no matter what is on the holder.
