Having handled a couple of genuine pieces, the original piece is most definitely a cast copy/counterfeit. Too much pitting and lack of detail.
I don't see much of a difference between doctoring your coins and doctoring your pictures... both misrepresent the coin and personally I think...

My experience tells me if that are all the same color it is because they have been cleaned. Especially in photographs.
