Bad dog.
Best to start a new thread and post photos. However this sounds like it’s environmental damage.
A weak strike to begin with and lots of good ole American wear on that one.
Very nice find.
Slightly above and to the left of the D in DOLLAR. There is a small x scratched just to the left of the mint mark.
I think you have a genuine mint error. Welcome to CT.
Two of those coin with date missing are from grease filled dies. Very common and it still happens today.
Very nice error and the date is a good date.
Counter Stamping coins was free advertising. It was very popular during the 1800’s.
I don’t see any errors in the ones you posted. Mostly damaged as it was done after it left the mint. Two of them are counter stamped as stated...
It’s possible
I’m thinking I looked at that wrong. It’s a D but not a mint mark. I think I’m a bit messed up.lol
The way these are made and given the softness of zinc it could be nothing more than a hit.

Try the reverse directly below the eagles tail and shield. Take a moment and look and it pops out at you.
Damaged completely! Welcome to CT.
I think you paid a fair price and received a fair price. Searching through all them will be fun.
Never had a problem with them.
Wish I could find some 2024 coins.
