The I in LIBERTY is the clue but it’s not in the photos. Best to show the entire coin.
Looks like an RPM. The mint marks were hand punched into the die back then so it appears doubled but it’s not. It’s an RPM or repunched mint mark.
That die was working hard towards growing into a shattered die. Nice find.
I thought so, thanks. It was a $10 coin until carved.
Best to leave as is. It’s best to have in hand and due to the wear I can’t tell if which variety it is, high or low ground. The low ground is the...
Twenty Cent Pieces were only minted for circulation in 1875 and 1876. Proof only issues were minted in 1877 and 1978. The design was to much like...
Due to the beard I’d say it was recently done. Not a Hobo but made to look like one. What a shame it’s done on a 1913.
You are correct sir, a detached lamination. That makes it a genuine, bona fide mint error. Nice find.
A number of things could be the cause as mentioned.

There’s a die chip on the 5 in the date. Very common as stated. The FG appears normal to me as it’s a copper coated zinc cent. Spend it.

Since I’ve never received a Barber Dime in circulation I can state that it never passed through my hands.
A 1921 and a 1921-D, semi-keys. [ATTACH] [ATTACH] A nice looking but cleaned so damaged 1943 Mercury Dime. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
it doesn’t really show in the photo by it is. Graded by NGC as a MS-65 with Full Bands and a FS-501 which is a D over D mint mark. [ATTACH]...
Here’s the set in circulated condition. This is my second set. It’s more worn than the other set. [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
it’s worn but it’s a 1916-D. This is my third one and it fills that hole in my Whitman’s folder. :) [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
What a lovely story and I agree with both of you not wanting to go back. In 51 years it’s changed and best left in the past. There are plenty of...
It’s real and the price you paid reflects that it is damaged on the raised rims from being in a bezel. The wear looks consistent with being worn...
