The Lincoln looks to me like it was struck by a die that was at the end of its life.
Compare its thickness to another nickel and weigh it. If it's as thick as a normal nickel and weighs 5 grams, you might have something.
Heavily worn, that's all.
And poking the coin is much safer than poking at a sleeping bear.

Can't be. Cents have never carried a "P" mint mark. Your cent suffered a hit, moving a portion of the "D" toward the inside of the "D".
