It's funny, when I first saw that video I was praying he'd pick VG for the epic fail, it was close to his hand. Perhaps he did on one of the takes...
Love that video! I would pay $1000 to see the "spectrum" they obtained for VERDI-GONE. It would have no IR absorbance peaks on a low-energy...
Well, electrolysis would certainly do the job....but it will also leave the coin devoid of luster after the top levels of metal have been removed....
None of that matters, people read too deep and over analyze the TPGs. It comes down to ONE SIMPLE thing....does the TPG want the coin in one of...
IMO, NGC will reject it too, market unacceptable toning.
Yea, it's just a handheld XRF device. A lot of pawnshops and such use them to analyze metals. XRF is cool for that, it does a decent job at...
My source? I don't need one other than my 25 years experience as a chemist and coin conservationist. Electrolysis is the harshest cleaning method...

Very nice!
Nice find!

Stunning!

Stunning Lincoln!! Even though it's under-graded, 65+ for eye appeal in my books. Thanks for sharing!
Very good summary quarter-back! I appreciate the detail and thought put into the review. Very honestly written! Thanks
The luster is flat, a REAL red IHC in original condition should have cartwheel luster and I don't see any indication on the given picture. Any...
