MS64 and if PCGS QC'd it they missed the boat. Love the reverse.
So sorry for your loss. Reading your post about your grandfather reminds me of my roots in numismatics. I still have the coins that got me started...
I could not agree more unless we were talking about a desirable die defect (VAM) ;)
That is definitely unique. I like unique but find it impossible to grade based on a static photo.
Chalk that one up to a clerical error. ;)
In my opinion, AU58. NGC may have called it MS61 though.
I'll bet INS said 65. (That is INS paperwork off to the right?)
This! Except it's coins my Grandmothers and mother gave to me when I was very young. These coins are the reason I collect today as a so called...
NNC is not a real grading service. Someone called their slabs plastic clown suits once and I tend to agree.

Very nice! It looks like a 66 at todays' standards.
Great trio! I would have thought AU on that bust 1/2 as well. It looks like minimal rub on a typical flat strike.
This was the post I was referring to Dave.
It is certainly not the same coin and probably an honest mistake. I don't see a seller like Mv making a living by bait and switch auctions. I have...
I'm just trying to wrap my head around the theory that steel is added back to a die as it goes from EDS to LDS. Did they have a micro TIG welder...
I've been on board with the theory that these dies were re-purposed because they were not needed by the San Francisco mint. I'll bet they had a...
