I hope that the coins are properly conserved. It would be unfortunate if someone took the coins from their holders & cleaned them with silver polish.
The same scratches are on the sphinx on the smaller brass coin to the upper-left.
I posted this as a teaser. The sphinx always has those scratches because they are part of the design. :)
