Was never a "P" on the 1909. It was either a "D", "S" or blank.
The new coinage is plated with nickel. It looks a lot different than silver. Silver coinage is very easy to see among the new coins.
Might not be a jeton, we haven't seen it yet.

Check ebay completed listings for "brockage" There's quite a range of values depending on the country etc.
