Take and upload a pic using a mirror so we can see both sides at the same time.
No, it's not 1942/1. That's machine doubling.
Hmmm . . .
Would it hurt more if the edges were reeded?
Not an error, damage. Probably from a counting machine or roll crimper.
We know. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/canadian-mint-employee-accused-of-smuggling-180k-of-gold-in-his-rectum.284130/
Think about the shape of the dies. All three of them are always perfectly circular.
The lighting is poorly directed, but I'd have to say no.

Jim, others have told you that those coins, except for the cent, are proofs, not SMS. I'll tell you that that Half Dollar is a an Accented Hair...
You haven't shown us the reverse yet.
Yes, it is. Accented Hair variety. [IMG]
I also changed my mind. Go back and see the edit.
I think it's a Special Mint Set (SMS). http://www.pcgs.com/News/1964-Special-Mint-Set-Coins ETA: I looked again and it does not look like a mint...
Maybe so, but for that kind of money, I want it slabbed for authenticity, variety, and grade.
Why isn't it in a slab? I wouldn't lay out that kind of money on a raw one. Too much of a risk. That's just my opinion, though.
Why couldn't you just post the pics here? I'm not too sure of it.
That doesn't look like a TPG slab to me.
Still the same result.
That's right. I had forgotten about that possibility.
