I would have it graded. The fact that the dealer says it is fake says something. I would not try to sell it in grades if I was told it was fake.

In 1968 San Francisco started to mint proof coins. Prior to 1968 they were minted in Philadelphia.

I don't think this coin has a loss of weight due to a rolled thin planet. This coin looks like it was affected by acid.
Your coin is not a proof. It is a circulation strike.
No it is not. A proof coin from 1974 would have an s mint mark.

Out of topic but the Indian head cent is not worth more than $1.50. A dealer might not even give a dollar for the coin due to condition of the coin.
