pics are not very good but looked around vg-8 or so to me. Not a ton invested at $21.75....
46 varieties for 1848 and 33 for 1853. Date position is helpful for eliminating most possibilities. Grellman's book is what I use.

1848 looks like N-9 which is R-1. 1853 looks like an N-16 to me which is R-1+

I bid on the 1844 coin but it got too pricey for me with the wear and damage to the reverse. 1847 is an N-1
Found an N-42 last April that Grellman confirmed. This one looked a lot like it as far as date position..Some of the markers on reverse were not...
