I'm no expert in gold coins, but shouldn't the mint mark be incuse like the rest of the design? The mint mark in the photos doesn't look to be....
They aren't exactly - due to minting issues, each variety will have a different amount of "curve" or "dome"...
Probably because a lot of the candidates don't even look like the people they're supposed to be honoring...
I think the law was vaguely written and I'd like them to clarify it. I just don't see that happening.
