It's real. dipped/?cleaned too, but real. Edge reeding is tough to image, the best way I know of is to lay the coin flat inside a reflector...
Worn out, that is the most utilized Pan-pac I have ever seen or even heard of!
Definitely dipped to remove all patina, and cleaned as well (hairlines right obv field). As pointed out by rzage, any "white" 150+ year old coin...
Great photos, about as close to 3-d as a 2-d image can get!
Thanks for trying!
pretty neat. Where did you find that?
Thanks, Larry. I have seen it asserted elsewhere that PVC on gold does not need to be removed as it can't damage it. Do you know if the damaged...

As others have said, genuine but scrubbed within an inch of its life. There are problem coins and there are truly ugly problem coins and this is...
Thanks rzage and green18, I totally missed this thread till tonight.
From the photos posted, I lean towards genuine, but honestly can't say for sure. USS656 I look forward to your photos! Glad this thread has...
Nice coin, Bill, and you stimulated a worthwhile discussion, even getting a real trade dollar expert (crypto79) to post. The only thing that...
