Not looking for value, just wanting to gain knowledge about coins.
Would someone post some links to this if possible for research. I'm not sure of the 'jargon' or terms of description for this.
die deterioration removes the surface of the die, am I correct, it doesn't leave metal on the surface to cause a recess in the metal. the removal...
Upon searching the die deterioration I found that 'foreign' object in the die when coin was struck causes this result - but thank you all for your...
So, would a planchet error cause this as well ??

That 'over used die' would have to be broken at that point thus causing a die error with lack of metal in those areas.

I just checked out Wexlers "Formative Years" and was wondering if it takes all the 'stages' to be a collectable or just various ones?
I'm sorry for asking so many questions but what better way to learn than to ask. "IF" a Cheerios cent has been opened is there another way to tell...
