It's a modern hobo nickel. Somebody altered it to make it into a novelty. Like they used to with Buffalo Nickels.
And of course I live in an area where Denver minted coins are dominant. Only a few of the older Philadelphia coins can be found out here.
They charge too much to grade coins. You almost have to sell them immediately to make up the cost. Unless you guys know a cheaper way.
