Looks like someone tried to plate the cent. It's not a lamination peel.
Nice seperation in the upper Serif. [IMG]
Looks like die deterioration to me. This is common where there is apparent doubling at the outer edges of the devices near the rim. I would like...
I would forget everything but the crease in the 7. It either has it or it doesn't. This is a fail-safe means of telling the two apart on coins...
Nice find! That one's been on my radar screen for awhile. Still looking though.
Jesse- As RLM said, look for the notch in the seven. The photos aren't sharp enough to tell. http://www.thecentproject.com/sort1970.php
Can you post a pic?
Thanks BHP. Apparently Coneca lists the doubling on the "2" as Class II. They also list Class I doubling on "LIBERTY" and the motto, but I...
Or it could be an RPM.
I don't know of anything 1964 either. There were four different varieties of the 1965 having to do with the beads and the 5 of the date.
I may be wrong, but I am not aware of small date/large date varieties in the 1969 Cent. I think you might be thinking of the 1969 Dime. That...

It's mechanical doubling. Here's a study guide to help you identify it. http://www.bakercoins.net/learn/variety/mech/index.html
Here's the P & S. Though the Philly is in a later die state, they appear to have come from the same master. [IMG] [IMG]
Unfortunately that's about as close as my camera is going to resolve it. Looks just like the pointed tip of the lower bar in the two making me...
Anyone know if there was a master hub doubling for 1972 with an extra bar above the 2? I found this on some Ps and thought it was a new class...
It is not. Here's a link for identifying them. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/wideams.html
Mike, What you're seeing there is die deterioration. There would be no premium for this.
Separate names with a comma.
