Thanks for the bump, Frank. As a not so strong hint, there are other coins that also fit this question---I just happened to have these examples...
I was hoping this thread might grow legs, but it seems to have died. Here's another one, These 3 coins have something in common. What?...
Me. Yes, I cheat on my beloved busties every once in a while.:shame:
Not a proof...as far as PCGS is concerned, not even a proof-like. Although, I'm told that it probably would proof-like today if resubmitted....
A centennial bash... [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] Looking...
None that I regret selling. Every coin I've ever sold was worth more to someone else than it was to me otherwise I wouldn't have parted with it....
Not my phone home screen, but I rotate through my collection as my desktop on my home computer.
Not a problem...as I said above I'm always ready to learn something new even after 50 years (as of next month) of specializing in bust halves.
The only problem I spot in my post is the wonky looking date. And yes, in my pic it IS wonky looking--especially the 8. In reality, it isn't...
As a rule, with the exception of the wing the O-102 is probably the best struck 1809 there is. Hard to believe that the reverse die had already...
Yes, it is a sickness, even after nearly 50 years of specializing in them I still have to attribute any bust half that gets posted.
Let 'er rip.
Yes, I kind of thought it might be you who got it. [ATTACH]
Hint: Think about the overall years of the coins pictured--not the individual coins.
There aren't any 1813 overdates, either. But no, the pictured 1810 and 1826 are not the last Overtons in the emission sequence.
BIG :)!!! Although I am rather obsessed with 27's, I do actually own the other years--just not as many of them.
Reasonable guess. Each year does either feature an overdate, or provide the underdate for another overdated year--ie, 08/7, 11/10, 12/11...
LOL...while technically true, the same could be said for the entire century's output.
These 6 coins (not these very coins, but the dates) serve a particular distinction...What is it? [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH]...
She finally showed up. My pics. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
