i too spend common star notes. even the old silver certificates gets only a 1 or 2 dollar increase for being a star. i keep all the "rare" ones,...
i'd keep the 1959 and 1959D, 1960 and 1960D, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1965, 1969, and all the S mintmarked cents. just becuase they are the lower mintage...
