a coin roller is what the coin companies like brinks uses to roll coins. sometimes when the coin is at the end of the roll, the machine scratches...

also look for any half with a S mintmark. they are proofs, and someone broke into a collection and spent them becuase the mint did not issue them...
those are the kind of people that keep dollar coins, clad halves, and $2 bills, but spend wheat cents and pre 1960 nickels. :D

i'd probaly keep it in the slab. you would have to reslab it if you ever wanted to sell it, and you could do damage to the coin if you are not...
i got a bounty hunter at walmart a couple years ago for $200. it works really good, or at least good enough for me.

i keep all the S minted cents and all the S minted nickels except 1970. i don't see them very often, and they are lower mintaged than the P and D...
