Looks more like die deterioration to me. Don't see anything close to a match. But keep looking for it, I am.
What makes you say it could possibly be a die crack? With coin in your hand you have a better view then us. I'll wait for the results.
Haven't seen it yet. It's probably a die gouge. Nice arrow. And WELCOME to the forum dollar.
Machine doubling IMHO.
Arrows, I don't even see the indians. The coin is a mis-aligned die with clash marks.
You guys have good eyes. All I see is some md on the 'A' in states and reflections.
Nice find blginatl. And WELCOME to the forum.
Yep, a definite die clash
Nicks and dings but I don't see any clash marks.
Well whatever it's on it's MD.
That's a strange looking double strike. It looks like it was hammered to look like that.
Not stupid, just one more step in learning.
All of the above.
I remember some time ago you could buy plating equipment that you could plate car emblems and what not. I wonder if this could be the results of...
They could be gouges. Got a clearer photo?
Tucson, did someone say Tucson. I usually go there about twice a year to visit in-laws. Tell me more.
I think you might be seeing the devices that hold the coin in place in the slab.
The mint considers this normal. But I ask on a proof coin? It shouldn't be normal.
It does look mis-aligned but not by much. Mis-aligned die with a clash is know as a MAD Clash.
Neat, it's probably a gas bubble.
Separate names with a comma.
