I would question why they don't fit in the albums.
My 2 cents after this thread, is somehow all of us have successfully found a way to get along, I have been thru some barnburners during my years...
Neither of these errors are seen on this coin, I just wanted to make that clear.
I think it could go higher than my guess. It definitely has great eye appeal upon a second look!
And if it doesn't? I have rinsed them with acetone and no change.. Usually to a darker tone and doesn't look natural. Maybe a simple nontoxic...
I believe some of it is die wear, and some of it is just the anomalies that happen in the reduction process from the Galvano's to the working die....

Woody's/ Improperly mixed alloys have streaks of different metals that look like wood grain.
Thats exactly why I question them. The zinc showing in the split plating and the zinc on the obverse are the same color and tone
I always like seeing that one Larry. I have a couple of Ikes also.
They tend to defy the logic of a missing plating, and do not look altered.
6.7 and I don't even know if that is a grade?
