I came home from school today knowing that I had some time to kill. I thought “Maybe I should VAM those two Morgans I have”. I looked at my 1888-S...
I’ve also seen potty Seated coins, from dimes to dollars.
The coin has some black encrustation as part of the damage, but it seems to be removable. Maybe I should try carrying it as a pocket piece, and if...

I’ve had this belief for a while now: The difference between a 66 and a 67, or a 67 and a 68 is often just one slight imperfection. That...
I would say 65 CAC, but TPGs are so inconsistent. I’ve seen worse in 66 holders. I’ve seen lots of nicked up 65s, and lots of nice 65s like this one.
I would say it’s a 55 weakly struck by worn, tired dies.

The die crack between UNITED and STATES doesn’t seem to be there, but I’m not too great at die states. Awesome coin, and a worthy dateless pickup!
It doesn’t look like it matches up with any 1807 die pair. I’ll look more into this one later - it’s a tough one. Discovery piece? :p
Nice coins! Still on the lookout for a 96! I’ll find one someday...
Depends on the price. If I see one with only mild shipwreck effect and decent price, I might buy it for the history.
The true challenge with 1863-1871 S mint half dimes is finding problem free examples. Half dimes are certainly an underrated series as a whole,...
