I'd be more worried about the paper being abrasive to the coins...they'll mark up faster than they will tone, IMO.
I believe it refers to 'old green holder', I think people believe that the coins in these older holders were more conservatively graded at that...

Silver peaking at $50 in 1980 is totally meaningless...Hunt brothers....Dealers would only give you $35/oz. because the market was so volatile....
I don't think silver and gold should be tied to each other. People in countries that are getting wealthier, want jewelry made of gold, not silver....
