I was wondering what causes this damage i see it on lots of quarters from differing years. Don't see this pattern of damage on anything except...

Interesting damage the obverse damage doesn't occur on date looks like it was struck over the damage, the same occurs on the reverse[ATTACH] [ATTACH]
