Thanks folks, I had 64 in mind when I posted it. Not sure if I'm going to submit it, I worry about submitting ANY Lincoln with color anymore. NGC...
I agree with that.
It also pays to know the series, the 25D and 25S Lincolns are well known to be some of the worst quality coins ever minted.
I have an SEM with EDXRF in my lab. I will be able to look at the elemental composition on the surface at any point on the coin. :kewl:
Indeed...good observations. Perhaps I'll look at this coin using the SEM at work to get an idea of what elements are present in the dark area...
Hummm...those are definately the typical wear points, but the cheek the usually the first thing to wear, and I don't see wear there in hand....

EF-40, I don't see anything that would cause it to net down, it's a pretty normal looking EF IMO. The wheat stalks have AU detail.
When I see those I call them stretch marks. The die pressure was insufficient to smooth the fields. I've seen this quite a few times on the S and...
I don't like this year/mint, but this one is better than the EF coin it's going to replace. Lots of obv die cracks, gives it a bit more character.
Well, I wanted/needed it for my collection and it's the best one I've seen in-hand....and the whole time I was looking at it this guy was asking...
Impluse buy today, worn dies and excessive spacing, a good example.
Tough date/mint, I was surprized I found one today! Kind of pressured to buy because another Lincoln collector that came after me wanted it...
Yes, the reaction is essentially finished unless there's free anionic materials still present. Of course the process can continue if there's free...
