Hey Mod....how come you took out my highlighted sections cut-and-paste ? I posted the link, I don't think I violated any copyright laws.
Yeah, always getting them mixed up, and I just typoed it wrong in the title.:(
Exactly, I agree completely. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some VF coins I need to break out of some plastic slabs for the New Year.:p Did I...
Great post, Doug....but I had NEVER heard of deliberately trying for a LOWER grade which is what the 1927-D situation involved. :wideyed: And I...
I like the Australia Wedge Eagle and the Saint-Gaudens National Park coins much better. And of course there's the 2009 UHR.
It's rare that a Green CAC will jump the price ABOVE the next grade level for the auctions/coins I've seen intensely; I haven't seen or studied...
Different year, same coin, same mint: I was reading an article on 1927-D's and the article said that a buyer wanted a CAC 1927-D so John Albanese...

Really ? How much snow ? Probably just a dusting, right ? I'm coming from New York, I expect 70 degrees and Sun at FUN !! :D
I am not sure it would be called a commemorative but it's not the annual coin they release either (like the ASE or Maple Leafs or Kruggerands),...
That makes sense. When something doesn't trade that frequently, a published quote that isn't too dated is a decent approximation of fair value,...
Really ? I don't see it on expensive stuff like gold coins and Saints, and not even on cheaper stuff like MSD's. Markups are there, but not 30%...
I never worry about paying an extra 5 or 10% over market for a coin that is somewhat unique (i.e., non-bullion). As long as I'm not paying 20-30%...
