How do you define expert? How long did it take you to gain expert status? I mean no disrespect, and I hope you don't take this the wrong way --...
:)
I prefer the toned example.
Not really -- your slab photo gave it away....the number 86675 means it's a FBL Franklin, and the .65 signifies the grade. ;)
That's not quite the answer I had in mind. ;)
p.s. that's a wonderful coin, IMO, and one that I would have no problem paying a premium for.
I'll bet you $1000 that PCGS graded the coin 65 FBL. ;)
900....And here I thought Booby Head matched your pic a bit better: [img] :D
Please define "pedigreed". Are "hoards" an example of pedigree? That asked, I have a large number of pedigreed coins, most are large cents....
Lehigh, Do you consider yourself an expert on toning? Just wondering, re:Eddie's comments above...Mike

p.s. it looks more album toned to me.
That's a great VF coin!
Sometimes Ikes tone a goldish color. Are your coins gold plated, or just gold toned like the one below: [img][img]
Send it back to PCGS under grade guarantee.
edited grade above -- I really need to take new pics of it. It's been in a Dansco for a few years now, and starting to edge tone. :)
