Hi, my name is Mike. I'm a copper-aholic. Here are my four favorites: [img][img] [img][img] [img][img] [img][img]
I never said it deserved to be in a slab. I simply presented the rationale (or an "excuse", if you prefer) the TPGs use when slabbing these...
Looks like a TPG 66 (ticks & taps) -- and that's what I guessed -- but wonder if they didn't grade it higher because of luster.
guessed 63, but the surfaces are good enough to go higher, and NGC does tend to be a bit more liberal when it comes to coins like this, IMO.
You said these coins didn't come from the mint "damaged", when in fact they did. I'm not making any excuses. I'm simply trying to be accurate in...
Any word from Heritage?

p.s. while there is quite a bit of variability in strike for both issues, it is not unusual at all for peace dollars to be less well struck than...
Both coins appear to be mint state to me, and I think the TPGs would grade them in the 64-65 range.

It is not a 1916. 100% sure, even without the S mint mark (and you're right, there were no 1916-S SLQs).... If it were a 1916: The rivets would...
