I bought this from Bill Fivaz last night at a coin club meeting. I had never seen one of these before, and the price was right. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]...
I have no idea. From the looks of the coins, it looks like they were wrapped in paper together with a bunch of other coins. #1 has the perimeter...
That coin looks like roadkill, so it wouldn't surprise me if the mintmark was scraped off. I see a faint outline of what looks liks a mintmark.
I think a 61 is harsh. As far as number of marks is concerned, this has fewer than most 62's I have seen. There are some marks on the cheek, but...
I do disagree. The luster looks like that of an AU coin, not an MS coin. But what do I know? And my pictures may be misrepresenting this coin.
He said that the TPG would bump it to 65 because of the color (do they even do that???), so I guess he agreed with me that it was technically an...
Bill Fivaz said MS-62/63.
Bill Fivaz said MS-63.
Bill Fivaz said MS-65.
Here's mine. This is my first ever denarius, a denomination I had been wanting for years and just never got the courage to step outside of my...
Thank you.
Brass coins always set me on edge. I know of very few ancients that were actually made from brass.
But that sounds like thinking and work. You can't have any of that...
That seller calls it a die break. :vomit:
Can't trust key dates outside nor inside a slab. Time to forget about key dates and collect something interesting/worthwhile/uncorrupted. All...
It would be easier to judge in hand, but I think MS-64.
I'm pretty sure that's what I'm seeing. I'll show it to Bill Fivaz on Saturday. I need a lot of practice with AU-58 vs MS Morgans.
Definite AU. I say AU-58. Probably one of the nicest-toned you will see at this grade level. The pics do not give the luster justice. [ATTACH]...
Technically AU-58, but I can see a push to MS-62. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
As much as I want to say MS-64, this one is obviously AU-58. This is the one one of the three that I will keep. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
