Haha. I think the best way to clean it will be to soak it in paint thinner and give it a good strong scrub with steel wool.
Yeah, the acid is what "cleans" the coin, I believe. Other acidic stuff does about the same thing, like lemon juice, etc.

Incorrect sir. Coinflation is updated daily and fairly accurate unless the spot price takes a 20% swing or something over the course of the day....
It's very common, and usually recommended, to clean ancients. So yes, some coins should be cleaned.
