LOL ok. I decided to google "weak struck penny" to take a lookie. The first image is this one I posted This is why you cant believe everything...
Both of your blown-up pics are from the original overall pic. Take pics from different angles.
Thats either some sort of doubling or the worlds greatest plating issued cent, ever. lol
Looks like LIBERTY is doubled as well. (praise that non cents confirms)
The coin weighs correct also
I imagine this is what a weak struck penny looks like? Abe looks 20 lbs lighter. The reverse looks good except Abe in the memorial is very weak...
Not the greatest pic but again the field around the 9 is completely different surface than the rest. Looks like ripples in water with flat smooth...
Artistically, that's the best offset coin I've seen yet. It almost looks like coins natural design.
Thanks. It looked like someone went at it with an engraver.
The field texture around the 9 is completely different then the rest of the coin. Repunched die? [ATTACH]
Correction. VF '36
Nice. A co worker brought her change bucket for me today. Cents, a few dimes and nickels and a bunch of world coins. There was 7 wheats, typical...
I'll just add it with my Spock Lincoln and Abe Zorro cent, and name him Abie Wonder :D
Bro, you think its could be a plating issue? I don't see any sort of seam line or bubbling.
I dropped it. It rang. It was a telemarketer. I hung up. What's next? Lol
Its a beautiful coin.
Maybe a wirebrush brisel ?
I know that's probably wrong but I can't see grease flowing like that.
Hmm. Im gonna guess and say the worlds biggest die crack. ever lol
BTW, its a 1983.
