I'm mainly into later Romans. (Sept. Sev. and later)
Aidan, how often does Australian coinage show in in change in NZ?
Ah, the current small types. British 1p, 5p and 10p (as well as the older large-size 5p) often make it into circulation.
They last had that on the 1967 $1s, which wasn't payable in anything but regular circulation coins (Do they use old money where you live?) Current...
The token is probably from the 20s. The holed piece- Spanish late 1800s pesata? (I don't have my Krause handy)
Not really. More than half of the ones on ebay are modern made-for-export coins which aren't actually used there.
North Korea IMO would be the toughest to get a circulation coin from, virtually impossible. (Same for Libya) Sudan is hard to come across, I've...
If I did my math right, this seller needs at least 25 negs to drop down to 98% positive. I once almost got burned by one of these types of dealers...
Also of note, as a percentage of melt, war nickels trade for less than dimes, quarters and halves as the metal is "junkier" and thus costlier to...
Greyfang, IMO it's toning due to what the coin was placed on. The streaking is usually just a few, straight streaks.
I think I've seen some interesting replies in other forums which were neat. Myself, I can't help but wonder if it's a barbaric piece!
Why would you lowball the dimes? (2.5x face, while 4x face for quarters and halves?)
Happy birthday!
Are you sure? It only looks like it's about 150 y.o.
Looks worse than some injured dimes from dime banks! (considering that this is steel and those were silver!)
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. To my understanding, the c/n British £5 coins are very hard to spend.
Color varies. I don't like it as an indicator since it's okay for lightly circulated examples, but once you get to VF or lower grades, the toning...
Virtually all German hyperinflation notes with face values around 100 million or less are near-worthless. The ones with 200M FV and higher start...
Back to the original question, if I was offered it and interested, I wouldn't buy it due to obverse problems.
I'd doubt it was struck from worn dies.
